Ati Ling was established in Oakville, California in 1987 by His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche as the Bay Area branch of Chagdud Gonpa Foundation to provide instruction in the traditions of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. Chagdud Rinpoche's son Jigme Tromge Rinpoche has been resident lama of Ati Ling since 1992.
We offer daily group practice... retreats with Jigme Rinpoche and visiting lamas... meditation instruction... facilities for personal retreats... Buddhist reading materials... arranging of butterlamp offerings... dedicated shrine-room for practice or study... introduction to Tibetan sacred arts... support and prayer for those going through bereavement...
When he is not travelling, Jigme Rinpoche is available for interviews and can offer guidance for those wishing to pursue a spiritual practice.
We are located at the Padmasambhava Peace Institute, a non-profit educational center established by Jigme Rinpoche and dedicated to actively teaching peace, harmony, preservation of the environment, and respect for all beings. The Institute is on a beautiful 485-acre site known as the Black Mountain Preserve about two-and-a-half hours north of San Francisco, in the coastal redwood hills of western Sonoma county.
