Sunday Open House program offers a friendly introduction to meditation, Shambhala Buddhist teachings and our community. This program is open to anyone, free of charge or by donation.

10:00 – 10:30 Tea: Connect with others who share your curiosity and interest.

10:30 – 11:30 Meditation Instruction and Practice: Introductory meditation instruction is available at 10:30.

11:30 – 12:00 Talk and Discussion: Introductory teachings are presented either as dharma talks and discussion or reading and discussion. When dharma talks are presented, the Open House usually concludes at about 12:15 pm.

Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center brings the tradition of Soto Zen Buddhism to the San Francisco peninsula and the South Bay. Individuals from Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, San Jose , and surrounding communities come together to sit in meditation, study Buddhist teachings, and explore the meaning of Zen practice in our busy lives and in the modern world. Named after Kannon, the Buddhist personification of compassion, the center provides a supportive environment in which centuries-old teachings and traditions complement the creative and caring spirit of contemporary America.

Kannon Do is a non-residential center, voluntarily maintained and supported by its members. There are no membership requirements to participate in its activities.

Weekly Meditation Group in Mountain View every Tuesday evening, 7:30 - 9:00 pm

Monthly day longs and a monthly study group in Campbell, and a monthly study group and periodic non residential retreats in Menlo Park.

Program includes meditation classes, retreats, Day-Long Retreats and individual consultations to support the development of ethical living (sila), the development of meditation (samadhi), and the development of wisdom (panna).

IMSB and our teachers are dedicated to the Buddhist practice of Dana and generosity. Our activities rely upon the generosity of our community in gift or effort.

Insight Meditation South Bay welcomes newcomers, beginning meditators, and seasoned practitioners. We value the presence of new and old friends.
